Our client is a leading global broadcast media company and are looking for a Digital Product Manager with good media supply chain knowledge and experience previously gained in the broadcast / streaming video sector. This is a permenent role but we also have a similar role available as a contract.
This role will help evolve bespoke internal workflow software products that are key for the business media operations to transform TV and movie content, and prepare it for distribution to global TV and streaming video customers/platforms (including Video-On-Demand VoD – SVoD, AvoD etc). The right person will have previous experience working as a Digital Product Manager / Product Owner / Business Analyst with a strong understanding of the media content supply chain and familiarity with relevant Broadcast Media terminology and software systems developement projects within Agile.
This is a flexible working environment, ideally Approx 1-2 days pw in the London Office but requires flexibility on both sides because of the global nature of the products and teams.
The Product Manager will be responsible for owning the features, roadmaps, plans and strategy for the Media Supply Chain Platforms Operations workflows. The role will work with various internal and external stakeholders, including senior managers to understand the overall business strategy and product requirements as well as prioritize and communicate those requirements to all development & engineering teams (internal and/or external).
The role will work to ensure the successful translation of requirements into high-quality software applications and operational workflows, taking full responsibility for the development, user experience, timelines, and ongoing enhancements.
The role will be required to prioritize tradeoffs, elucidate & validate requirements, and write user stories throughout the development lifecycle. They will also work with input from other areas in the Media Supply Chain Platforms to help understand overall supply chain needs.
Skill Requirements, Experience and Qualifications
Product Manager experience with strong understanding of media content supply chain and familiarity with media terminology and software systems. Good technology Knowledge such as relevant client and server operating systems, networking, Cloud technologies and corporate information systems infrastructure.The right candidate will possess the following knowledge, experience, and skill-sets
* Product Manager / Product Owner with approx 5+ years of working across departments to evangelize and continuously align teams with an overall technology / Product strategy
* Experience in working with an Agile project management framework and associated tools
* Experience writing user stories, grooming product backlogs and coordinating/prioritizing conflicting requirements in a fast-paced environment
* Experience in the media & entertainment industry relating to one or more of the following areas – metadata management, digital video and audio, asset management systems/platforms, multimedia formats, and international localization
* Experience of Products, software or systems in a cloud environment like AWS, Google or Azure.
* Good knowledge of media file standards, content supply chain workflows, video standards and networking topography
* Experience working in a distributed global technology environment is a plus
* Excellent teamwork, written and verbal communication skills (Excellent command of English)
Desirable Skills
* Budget management experience
* Knowledge and experience of Media Supply chain workflow orchestration systems such as SDVI.
* Understanding of media technology, data flows and deployment methodologies.
* Knowledge of cloud technology including Amazon AWS.
* Experience with XML, JSON, Web Services, video formats and protocols for VOD and live streaming
* Agile experience and familiarity with JIRA
* Engineering or development backgrounds welcomed
* Bachelor’s degree is preferred
