Senior IT Support Engineer (Media) - 6 Month Contract - £450 Per day - Twyford/Reading

This full-time role will be based in the Tywford area but will be managing systems that will be taking feeds from and broadcasting TV and radio across UK, USA, Australia, Europe and other English-speaking countries.

This is a senior post where the owners of the business will look to you to think ahead and identify risk and opportunity and make things happen both internally and managing suppliers. You will be provided with direction but will be expected to conduct your responsibilities without further input other than for exception reporting.

Experience required

  • MCSE certification is desirable
  • Proven experience and understanding of app implementation, integration and issue resolution for iOS, Apple TV, Android, Firestick, LG smart TV, Samsung Tizen smart TV, Android STB (must have experience on most of these to be considered)
  • Experience of managing, maintaining and providing 1st & 2nd line support for office computer & network systems; HLS, PC, normal user packages & updates
  • Experience of managing, maintaining and providing 1st line support for computer systems in a media environment; TV, radio, online including OTT / FM / DAB broadcast systems and audio signal chains (perfect fit if you have it)
  • Experience of managing, maintaining and providing 1st line support for ad insertion / replacement on VOD and linear (perfect fit if you have it)
  • Experience of working on multi-country projects, especially UK to USA and/or Australia (not critical)
  • Experience of writing or contributing to functional and technical specifications (not critical)
  • Previous experience of high SLA standards environments
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and assignments simultaneously under strict deadlines
  • Experience of managing a small but dynamic IT support team

Role

Identify and Resolve System Issues

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including account setup and network configurations for PC, Windows, VMware / HyperV, Linux, Android, HLS, IP infrastructure, Http server, CDN networks VOD & live streaming, Dante, mobile devices
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues and work with suppliers to identify and resolve issues on; apps, VAST tags, change requirements and change logs, software updates, update specifications
  • Track computer system issues through to resolution, within agreed time limits
  • Highlight potential and actual risks and act by exception / proactively to resolve issues

Manage Projects

  • Prioritise and manage multiple helpdesk / support system tickets and taking appropriate resolution action
  • Collaborate with internal teams
  • Deliver any training to staff on newly installed hardware and software systems
  • Carry out continual testing, monitoring and control activities in order to track the progress of the task
  • Fast response to day to day demands of general IT requests / issue

Document work

  • Develop comprehensive systems/user guide documentation including risk logs and requirement specifications
  • Document and manage change and issue resolution
  • Report and escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams
  • Report to the senior stakeholders on progress and timelines

General

  • May need to work outside normal working hours / shift work / occasionally work to USA / Australia time
  • Must be happy to commute to Twyford, Reading
