Experienced Senior IT Engineer Infrastructure Engineer to join the infrastructure IT team that support a group of international Computer Games studio's which are part of a larger Global Media Brand. This is for an immediate starter, hybrid working 2/3 days (WFH remote and Greater Manchester area Office locations) Full time 6 Month contract - Inside ir35 (up to £447pd to your umbrella company inclusive of all holiday and PAYE costs). You would be part of a team supporting infrastructure that delivers core services to developers and administrative staff. You will be providing full life cycle support for all IT systems including a mix of Technologies. We are looking for someone immediately available who has strong Windows infrastructure, VMware and NetApp experience and ideally some Jira Administration knowledge/experience and a mix of other technologies. The role and team maintain and monitor all network, security, and computer systems (windows & Linux) and are responsible for management, maintenance, and architecture of storage, virtualized environment, servers, network devices, and productivity tools such as Jira. Technologies are broad and also include Linux Hyper-V, Cisco, Palo Alto, Subversion, Team City, HPE Comware.
You will also be working in a fast-paced environment driving performance and reliability from software, infrastructure, and cloud environments on behalf of the Games studios. You will tackle challenging, unique situations every day and be looked upon as a subject matter expert. You will work well in a team, making reliable technical decisions around supporting and deploying large-scale services and engineering complex systems that run the business critical systems.
The successful candidate for this role will have:
-Immediate availability and have the right to work in the UK.
-Role will be hybrid working so you must be happy to work on site up to 3 days a week in Greater Manchester / North West - The rest will be remote
-Around 3/5 years Senior IT Engineer Infrastructure support and project engineering experience, ideally also a relevant IT degree
-3rd line Windows infrastructure support and infrastructure engineering experience including Powershell - Microsoft System Center Suite desirable.
-Must have strong VMware
-Strong NetApp Storage Experience working (cluster mode), / Cisco UCS / FlexPod beneficial.
-Solid technical background including infrastructure, networks, hardware, and software.
-Experience should include some of the following: Linux Hyper-V, Cisco, Palo Alto, Subversion, Team City, HPE Comware
- Good knowledge of IT security.
-Working knowledge of enterprise authentication systems (Active Directory, LDAP, Crowd, RADIUS, 802.11x)
-Experience using automated monitoring tools.
-Ideally some Jira Administration knowledge/experience
-Ability to identify incident trends in order to elevate incidents in accordance with standard protocols.
-Able to gather and present information systematically to troubleshoot, resolve, and report on issues.
-Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail.
-Able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
-Good analytical, problem solving, documentation, and decision making skills.
-Knowledge of ITIL and industry best practices.
-Strong oral and written communication skills.
-Experience of working in a cloud based or hosting environment desirable.

Someone with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, experience in integrating multi technology platforms, solid communication skills, and a desire to tackle complex problems.
In addition, you will oversee and participate in day-to-day IT infrastructure, game technologies, applications and desktop support operations and work closely with colleagues across the wider media group.
