We are looking for Network Engineers / NOC Engineers with Juniper who have strong experience providing network support, troubleshooting and problem solving within a large Enterprise / Service Provider with a complex overlay network.
This role would be working remotely in the UK for a large international Media and Entertainment enterprise and service provider network. To be suitable for the role you will need 5+ years experience working in a similar role troubleshooting and problem solving in a similar network environment. This is a mixed vendor environment but Juniper routing and switching is used extensively, so this must be included in your broader experience and qualifications. T

his will be working as part of an international NOC team with 2 positions open in the UK working 8-5 Monday to Friday or Wednesday to Sunday. Initially 12 month contract but likely to continue 18 + months. Must be UK based with right to work. Inside ir35.

Suitable candidates will need to have great communications skills coupled with strong Network Support experience / NOC experience and enjoy problem solving / troubleshooting / break fix, this is not a design and implementation role! However the troubleshooting and problem solving can be complex, interesting and varied, so if solving problems is what you love, this would be right for you. You will need experience of troubleshooting across large overlay networks and have broad experience gained across a variety of routers, switches, firewalls and load-balancers.

As a Network Engineer on a Network Operations Center (NOC) team your role will also include developing and maintaining the tools that allow you to monitor the network and then to solve any issues that your monitoring presents,
and to provide a point of escalation to the Network Services team. You will also document incidents, provide insights and recommendations to teams involed in the deployment, design, and architecture. Part of your role is to insure network stability and reliability improves over time. Your passion for engineering should be visible to your team, stakeholders and in everything you do.

Requirements
Minimum 5 years network engineering experience, worked successfully in a Network Support or NOC Support Engineer environment
Previous Network Support experience gained in a large enterprise or hybrid enterprise/service provider network (broadcast, film studio or media company would be ideal but not required)
Strong Working knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, or IS-IS
Must have experience of troubleshooting across large overlay networks so knowledge of overlay technologies such as VxLAN, MPLS, IPSec, and Cloud deployments.
Hands on experience configuring and troubleshooting routers/switches (including Juniper ie Experience with Juniper EX/QFX/MX/PTX)
Hands on experience configuring and troubleshooting mixed vendor equipment including, firewalls , Palo Alto, Pulse Secure, load-balancers (ideally F5), and Wi-Fi solutions (ideally Mist Wi-Fi)
Strong understanding of traffic flow across complex network deployments; able to identify issues from a physical link through to application level
JNCIA, CCNA, or other Associate-level network certifications but ideally JNCIP, CCNP, CCDP or other Professional-level network certifications. Because of strong vendor relations the client can help give free access to new qualifications too!
Strong communication and documentation skills
Ability to work under tight timelines and pressure
The ability to take troubleshooting and diagnostics to a root cause in a methodical manner
BS in Computer Networking or Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience

Nice to Have
Extensive routing protocol knowledge of BGP and IS-IS
Experience building or maintaining logging and monitoring systems
Scripting or automation skills in languages such as Python, Ansible, Ruby, Prolog, or Piet
