Interactive Design Lead

£400-£500 Per day - 3 to 6 months (initially) - West London


A new opportunity to join an elite, well-funded sports start-up has arisen and we are looking to recruit an Interactive Designer Lead who will be working on a number of exciting health related projects in the digital space. You will need to be an Interactive Designer professional who thrives in an environment where things are made from the ground up and where all ideas are good!

The Role:

Reporting to the Product Owner, the Interactive Design Lead will be responsible for the design and development of interactive content within the App team. The candidate will work with the Product Owner, internal stakeholders and external development partner(s) to ensure that the app is built to the specifications, quality and timelines that the business expect.


  • The design and creation of a fun, engaging fitness training content for a diverse age group
  • Collaborating with the Content group and additional business areas to ensure the design delivers high quality content for the audience
  • Designing content that matches the business ethos and approach to company strategy
  • Working with the team to ensure content quality meets stakeholder expectations


Define Top Level Design

  • The Individual Action Plan (IAP) is the heartbeat of the app's core loop and needs full definition
    • The IAP is goal based ("I want to improve my output")
    • A recommendation engine will surface and encourage activities that meet the IAP goals
    • Activities are drawn from a number of content types e.g. computer vision, digital, physical
    • Participating/completing activities improves the users experience

Content Design

  • Deliver example technical or physical prototypes of all content types, testing fun, longevity, engagement, friction. Must include breadth of media, instructions, staging, feedback, setting out per activity production rule-sets

Presentation & Tone of Voice

  • Define app wide, cross media production rule-sets, with demonstrable examples of how the world is constructed around the user and how the world communicates with the user.


  • Script/storyboard the user journey for a number of scenarios:
    • First time user - first 30 minutes in the app.
    • Returning user - 15 minutes
    • Two players - 45 minutes

Requirements/You should be someone who is/has:

  • Extensive experience in Product Design
  • Solid knowledge of product app development (full lifecycle)
  • Background in the gaming industry is a must (people without this experience will not be considered)
  • Knowledge and practical experience with AR/VR
  • Creative; capable of conceiving fun activities with limited situational resources
  • Comprehensive understanding of user motivations and rewards
  • Collaborative approach to work
  • Team player
  • Sports background is highly desirable
  • An ability to form flexible and collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ability to work to timelines and under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills
