Web Accessibility SME - Contract - £400-450per day

Inside IR35

Fully remote with a view to return to flexible working in 2022

Are you a competent web developer with a passion for making apps and sites fully accessible / usable so that everyone, no matter their ability, can have full access? If so, would you be interested in working within a team of experts for a global tech giant where user experience, regardless of the users' capabilities, are at the forefront of the business.

You will be working with mixed international teams, advising on accessibility, setting standards and helping to put processes in place to ensure that the development teams deliver world class, fully accessible applications.

The work will vary depending on the needs of the teams that you are working with and for this reason we look for a hybrid skill set so that you can work on technical elements of the role and be equally comfortable providing consultancy on accessibility matters.

You will have:

  • Strong knowledge and experience of accessibility and web standards, WCAG, ARIA
  • Experience conducting A11y / Accessibility Audits to WCAG AAA standards
  • Experience using a range of assistive technology tools such as JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver
  • Hands-on front end development skills - HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships and work across a range of teams within a global business

The team works on a variety of projects at different stages of the development process. You will need to be comfortable working across multiple engagements, advising teams on Accessibility at design, development and QA/Release stages of the SDLC.

3 Month rolling (quarterly) contracts - Based on previous engagements, we expect these contracts to last up to a total of 2 years with a view to move into a permanent role.

If you feel that your skills and experience would be a good match for this role, then please send a copy of your most recent CV and I'll be in touch with you to discuss further.
